Hazardous waste and paint
The City of London operates a Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Disposal Service on behalf of LBHF. The service is able to arrange the removal of wrapped asbestos and packaged chemicals from households.
Please call the Cleaner Greener Hotline on 020 8753 1100 to arrange for a collection by the City of London's service or visit the City of London’s website (opens in new window) to do it online.
Oil based paint can also be collected by the service.
Small amounts of emulsion paint can be taken to Smugglers Way and Cringle Dock Reuse and Recycling Centres, address details of which can be found by visiting the Western Riverside website (opens in new window).
Small amounts are considered to be the residue at the bottom of a tin of paint. The centres do not have the facilities to accept full tins of paint.
Find out how to reduce and reuse waste paint, visit the Western Riverside website (opens in new window)
