Pollution prevention and control and the environmental permitting regulations

The Local Authority Pollution Prevention and Control (LAPPC) regulatory regime controls pollution from certain industrial activities.  From 6 April 2008 it has been incorporated into the framework of the Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPR), 2007. The range of activities include dry cleaners, petrol stations, vehicle resprayers, waste oil burners, cement batching facilities, mobile crushers, cremetoria, and general foundries.

Dry Cleaners Since October 2007 dry cleaners are regulated are under the EPR 2007 and in order to operate as a dry cleaners a permit is required from the Council. Click here to find out more about applying for a permit, meeting the requirements of a permit and applying for changes to a permit.
