Annexe IV

MINISTRY OF DEFENCE RAF NORTHOLT, GREATER LONDON TECHNICAL SITE SAFEGUARDING DIRECTION AND EXPLOSIVE AREA SAFEGUARDING DIRECTION DATED 7 SEPTEMBER 2007.

RAF Northolt, Greater London

The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government has been informed by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) that a new safeguarding direction under the above mentioned order is required for the RAF Northolt, Greater London area.

Accordingly, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by Article lO(3) and 20(4) of the Town and Country Planning (General Development Procedure) Order 1995, hereby directs your Council to consult with the MOD before granting planning permission for applications involving the following:

  • Developments that involve flying activities including gliding, micro-light aircraft and hang-gliding sites.
  • All applications involving a refuse tip, a reservoir a sewage disposal works, a nature reserve or a bird sanctuary.
  • Any building structure or works exceeding 91.4 metres in height above ground level.

The extent of the area covered by the Direction has been imported to the Caps Uniform database and will be picked up as a constraint when a planning application case polygon is plotted.

For the purposes of consultation the Council will supply the MOD with a copy of the application together with any copies of submitted plans showing the location, layout, dimensions and height of buildings, structures, or erections of works to- which the application relates and such further information as may reasonably be required.
