UDP Part 2 - Chapter 12: Standards

Introduction

12.1 The policies set out in this chapter are detailed standards against which planning applications will be assessed once the principle of development has been established through the land-use policies contained within Chapters 4 to 11 of the Plan. The council will have regard to these standards in order to control developments where planning permission is required.

12.2 In its application of these standards the council will aim to ensure that a development is not detrimental to the surrounding area and that the amenity of, and the environment within, the borough is protected.
