Local Development Framework

Local Development Framework

(LDF)

The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act (2004) introduced major changes to the process for preparing plans. Development Plan Documents, which will comprise the Local Development Framework (LDF), will replace the current Unitary Development Plan (UDP) as the statutory local plan. Parts of the UDP have already been superseded following the formal adoption of the Core Strategy DPD in October 2011. The remaining UDP policies will be used alongside the Core Strategy prior to the adoption of a Development Management DPD. Other documents which make up the LDF include Supplementary Planning Documents which supplement policy in the development plan documents.
