History
In 1953 the London County Council (LCC) offered Fulham Borough Council approximately one acre of land for use as an open space in the Bulow Road area, which was scheduled for redevelopment.

Bulow Road, which was situated between Pearscroft Road and Langford Road, disappeared when the flats of Bulow Court and Pearscroft Court were built as part of the redevelopment scheme.

Negotiations on the site were protracted, and finally in 1959 the LCC agreed to lease the land to the council at a nominal rent of £1 per year and the land has subsequently been acquired by the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

The open space was originally named Langford Garden but subsequently changed to William Parnell Park, and opened in July 1961. It is also known locally as Pineapple Park as a reference to the wooden pineapple sculpture in the park.
