Food safety alerts
Food alerts are the Food Standard Agency's way of letting consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food and, in some cases, what action needs to be taken.
They are often issued in conjunction with a product withdrawal or recall by a manufacturer, retailer or distributor.
Food alerts are also sent to consultants in communicable disease control, trading standards officers and food trade organisations. The alerts are issued under two categories:
Product Withdrawal Information Notices / Product Recall Information
And
Food Alerts for action
