Building Control application forms and fees

The building control application forms are available to download as pdf files by clicking on the links below.

To submit a form, please print it out, fill it in and return it with the appropriate fee to the Building Control Administration Team (postal address given on the forms). 

Please note: We require 2 full sets of drawings per application, however, we will accept all supporting documentation for a Regularisation application if no drawings are available.

Building Notice Form
Building Act 1984. The Building Regulations 2000 Amendments. Notice in accordance with the Building Regulations Section 12(2A).

This is an alternative to a Full Plans Application and must be received at least 48 Hours before works begin on site.

Note: A Building Notice Form cannot be submitted for a proposal to build over a combined sewer or when a house is being converted into flats, but a Full Plans Application must be submitted.

Full Plans Application Form 
Building Act 1984. The Building Regulations 2000 (as amended). For Full Plans Application Approval and payment of fees – Regulation 12(3).

Pre Application Form
For submission before a Full Plans Application for preliminary meetings and/or written comments on your proposals.

Regularisation Form
For consideration of retrospective approval of works completed without prior Building Regulations Approval.

Notification of start of works
Please use this form to notify Building Control of your intention to commence works.

London Building Act (Amendment) Act 1939 forms

Section 20 of the LBA (A) Act 1939 Form
Approval for the erection or alteration to a building to which the above Act applies – precautions against fire in large buildings.

Fees

Building Control Fees (From 4th January 2011)
Please note, no fees are charged where the work is solely for the purpose of providing a means of access for disabled persons to or within a building, or for providing facilities designed to secure their greater health, safety, welfare or convenience and is carried out in relation to a building to which members of the public are admitted or is a dwelling occupied by a disabled person..
