Feral cats and kittens

Feral cats are domestic cats and their kittens living in the wild.

Some feral cats or kitttens may have been pets which have been abandoned by their owners and  or some may have got lost. Other cats are born as feral and continue to produce their own feral kittens. Any kittens born into the wild will be unaccustomed to human contact and will become ‘feral’ or wild. 

Feral cats can often suffer from diseases which can in turn be passed to domesticated cats in the same area. Feral cats often live in large colonies and reproduce rapidly so neutering is essential to manage the population.
