The admission application rounds for 2012 entry start in September 2011, the closing dates are:
- primary schools 15 January 2012
- secondary schools 31 October 2011

In year admission arrangements
Hammersmith & Fulham is the admissions authority for all community primary and secondary schools in the borough. From September 2010 local authorities have taken over responsibility for coordinating primary admissions within the school year. Our admissions team coordinate all ‘in year’ or ‘casual’ admissions for schools within the borough and for borough residents who are new to the area and want places in Hammersmith & Fulham or out-of-borough schools. (Voluntary aided schools are their own admissions authorities and will continue to make decisions as to whether or not applicants meet their admissions criteria.) Admissions arrangements for community schools for 2012
The local authority's admissions policy for all community nursery, primary and secondary schools for 2012, plus its scheme for the coordination of reception and year 7 admissions for 2012 were determined on 4 April 2011. The public notice and the determined arrangements can be viewed here:

Copies of the determined admission arrangements for schools that are their own admission authority (voluntary aided schools, academies and free schools) can be obtained by applying directly to the schools or the local authority.
The school admissions service
The school admissions section works with parents and schools to coordinate the entry of children into primary schools, transfer to secondary school and applications for school places within the school year.
