The term and holiday dates shown below are guide dates only. Schools usually follow the pattern of dates set by the council, but voluntary aided (church) schools can, in law, set their own dates. 

As dates vary from school to school, it is wise to check details with individual schools.  

Professional Training Days
The LA has not specified any dates for the PTDs (formerly known as INSETS) for the education years 2009-10 and 2010-11 and schools are responsible for their own arrangements. Please check with individual schools for any training day closures that may affect term dates for pupils.

Spring 2010

• First day - Monday 4 January
