School clothing grants
Clothing allowances are available to help parents buy school uniform for their children. These are paid when children start in the reception class at 5 or 'rising 5' and at 8 and are worth £31. The allowance rises to £79 when children enter secondary school and again in year 10.
Your children qualify for clothing grants to buy school uniform if you:
- receive Income Support or Income Based Jobseekers Allowance
- are supported under the National Asylum Seekers Support Scheme (NASS)
- receive Child Tax Credit and your income is less than £15,575 a year.
