Parent Partnership Service

Part of the Psychology in Education Service, the Parent Partnership Service is a statutory service that offers independent support to parents of children with special educational needs.

It offers advice on special educational needs procedures including statutory assessment, one to one support, and general information.

This service helps schools and the education authority meet the needs of children, for example by creating working partnerships between special education professionals and parents and encouraging them to take the views of parents and children into account. This services supports and empowers parents of children with SEN to take a full part in their child's education through helping them represent their views and facilitating liaison with appropriate agencies

  • What are SEN? 

    This booklet describes special educational needs (SEN) and how schools identify and take action to help children who have special educational needs.
  • What is a statutory assessment? 

    This booklet aims to tell you how Hammersmith & Fulham local
    education authority (LEA) carries out a statutory assessment of your child’s special educational needs and annual review procedures.
  • Disagreement resolution 
    This booklet explains about the disagreement resolution service and the special educational needs and disability tribunal and how they can help you.
  • Parent Partnership how it works and how it can help you 
    The booklet introduces the Hammersmith & Fulham parent partnership service, how it works and how it can help you. The booklet also provides a list of organisations that may be able to give you further help and advice tailored to your own family’s needs.

    This booklet explains who the professionals are and their role. It aims to help you think about what to ask when you meet a professional who is giving advice about your child.
