The Early Years Foundations Service can signpost you to appropriate training providers who can deliver training around the Early Years Foundations Stage. If you and your staff have identified particular training needs or areas of development - let us know. EYFS training
The Early Years Advisory Team can provide training on the learning and development requirements of the Early Years Foundations Stage to early years settings in the private, voluntary and independent sector.

Safeguarding
The Local Safeguarding Children's Board provides courses on safeguarding children. We recommend that anyone working directly with children and families completes the Level 3 "Introduction to Safeguarding Children" course as a minimum.

Being a reflective practitioner
We recommend that once a practitioner has attended a course, that they have an opportunity to give feedback to their manager and wider team. Please download a reflective practitioner form and complete with your staff after each training session.

Vocational training
Level 3 Diploma for the children and young people's workforce
The new diploma meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundations Stage. Candidates have to achieve 65 credits on the early years pathway. For further information about the diploma click here.

Early Years Foundation Degree
The early years foundation degree focuses on combining academic study with work place learning. The foundation degree is equivalent to two thirds of a full honours degree. Students will typically be working in an early years setting, and have to attend college / university for one day a week. BA top up degree
Students who have completed the foundation degree may choose to go on and complete their degree in full by enrolling on the BA top up. The course typically runs for a year. The college / university where you complete the foundation degree will give you further information about applying and the fees applicable. Once you have your degree, you may wish to consider gaining Early Years Pofessional Status.
