Estate Wardens
What do the Estate Wardens do?
The eight estate wardens patrol the council's housing estates seven days a week - targetting anti-social behaviour hotspots on the estates. The service operates 365 days of the year, between 4pm and midnight and until 1am Friday and Saturday nights. The wardens do not carry out routine patrols across the whole borough, but are targeted to work the hot spots where residents say they are most needed. If you are concerned about particular incidents of anti-social behaviour near your home, please call the estate wardens on 020 8753 2645.
Patrolling in the Land Rovers
The estate wardens have two state of the art Land Rover 4x4s. The estate wardens patrol in the 4x4s which are armed with a dual illuminated night vision camera. The camera is a full pan tilt and zoom model. It has a windscreen wiper for the rain and is able to see in complete darkness as it has an infra red light attached to it. These lights are invisible to the human eye and the person being filmed would not know that they are standing in an area that is being flooded with infrared light. Images are recorded onto a digital recorder mounted in the vehicle - allowing court quality evidence to be captured at the touch of a button. These new vehicles help the estate wardens make Hammersmith & Fulham's estates safer places to be.
