Receivership
The receivership team looks after the financial arrangements of service users who have been medically certified as being unable to cope with financial matters themselves.
We also report to the Public Guardianship Office to ensure we are acting in the best interests of all our receivership patients.
Property Protection
Our team may also be called in by social workers to protect the premises of someone who has been admitted to hospital or residential care and who does not have someone who can look after their property for them.
Our work can vary from taking a pet to boarding kennels to switching off heating, collecting important financial documents and securing the premises.
Council Funerals
We can also deal with the funeral arrangements of a deceased resident of the borough if there is no one else able to make arrangements. We make every effort to ensure these arrangements reflect the ethnic background or religious beliefs of the deceased.
