Hammersmith London Business Improvement District (BID)
A forum of local businesses seeking to regenerate the Hammersmith business area.
On 29th March 2006 businesses in the central Hammersmith BID area voted in favour of introducing a 5 year BID. The BID has been fully operational since 1st September 2006.
A BID is a business-led partnership that gives businesses the power to manage their own operating environment so that it directly benefits their businesses, their employees and their clients and customers. This includes projects such as safety, cleanliness and promotion of the area.
HammersmithLondon will be raising approximately £3m to be spent exclusively in the central Hammersmith BID area over its five year life span. The Hammersmith London BID aims to create a positive perception of the town centre and establish a strong business voice for the area.
The core objectives and work of the Hammersmith London BID fall within three main priority areas of
- Safe & Secure - making Hammersmith a safer and more secure place to work, visit and run a business.
- Clean & Attractive - cleaning, developing and freshening up the streetscape of Hammersmith, making it a more attractive and welcoming place.
- Promoted & Energised - injecting life and vibrancy into Hammersmith, attracting more visitors to the area, and enabling it to compete successfully with other destinations.
