Business Enterprise Centre
If you are about to start a business, or have just started one, the council's award-winning Business Enterprise Centre (BEC) in Shepherds Bush provides a variety of support services to meet your needs.
These include:
- Business advice - mentoring and guidance on launching and maintaining your business
- Information on grants for new and emerging businesses
- Assistance with finding business accommodation
BEC runs a diploma in Small Business Financial Management, equivalent to an NVQ Level 3, which provides a basic understanding of how to run the finances of a small company.
The centre also offers fee-paying services including book-keeping, payroll, research and marketing and Internet consultancy.
In March 2005 BEC was recognised for its work with black and minority ethnic business owners at the London African & Caribbean Entrepreneurs awards, winning in the Business Support category.
