Business rates - ways to pay
Everyone has the right to pay their business rates by 10 instalments (usually from April to January). We have listed below all the ways you can pay. They are listed in order of how expensive they are for us to process, with the cheapest first. Please pay by direct debit if possible, it saves the council money.
1.
Direct debit (bank accounts)
Over 45% of business rate bills are already paid by direct debit. The latest technology and guarantees from your bank make this the quickest, easiest and safest payment option. The direct debit payment date will be the 16th of the month. To set up your direct debit call 0845 803 1020 or download a direct debit mandate (pdf). The direct debit guarantee.
2. On the council's website using your debit or credit card. You can pay online 24 hours a day 7 days a week using your Maestro, Delta, Solo, Visa or MasterCard. From 16th November 2010 a handling fee of 1.25% will be charged for all credit card payments.
3. By telephone, using your debit or credit card
Pay over the telephone using Maestro, Delta, Solo, Visa or MasterCard. Just telephone 0845 803 1020 or 020 8753 1930 to take advantage of our debit/ credit card payment facility, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. From 16th November 2010 a handling fee of 1.25% will be charged for all credit card payments.
4. Home/telephone banking
Just call your bank and quote

5. By BACS

6. By bank giro credit
You can use a payment slip and make cheques payable to ‘London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham’.
7. At cashiers h&f Direct Centre
Please take your 8 digit account number with you. You may pay:
- by cheque - payable to LBH&F
- by debit/credit card (credit card payments are now subject to a 1.25% fee)
- at the payment kiosk located in the customer area. Cash will not be accepted over the counter from January 2011.
8. By post
Use your payment slip and make your cheques payable to ‘London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham’. Send your payment to: London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, PO Box 1453 London W6 9UU.
