Specific contingency plans
Information on our specific contingency plans
Widespread human disease
We have developed a plan for responding to diseases, such as flu, that affect the whole country or the world. The plan helps us to make people aware of these diseases and how they can help to stop them spreading, as well as giving people who are more vulnerable, help and advice. We worked very closely with health authorities to produce the plan to ensure it is accurate.
Heatwaves
We have worked closely with health authorities to develop a plan to respond to the Department of Health’s UK Heat Health Watch notices. The Heat Health Watch notices are designed to warn social and primary care services about possible heatwaves.
Droughts
Local authorities in London, Thames Water and other agencies are working to plan for problems a possible drought might cause. They are focusing their work on making sure vulnerable people have access to water through any period of drought.
