Statutory development plans
Also known as locally as the Unitary Development Plan (UDP) for the borough
The revised Unitary Development Plan was adopted by Hammersmith and Fulham Council in August 2003. It is an alteration of the 1994 UDP and is the statutory development plan for the whole Borough. The UDP sets out the council’s primary planning policies, the basis for development control decisions and conservation in Hammersmith and Fulham. We have presented the UDP here in a logical structure allowing simple navigation around the document. The text is the same as the source, but is presented differently because of the need to make it electronically and user friendly.
It contains tables, diagrams, and map images. There is also a Proposals Map. However, because this map is "live" and runs from LBHF geographic information system, the base map is regularly updated. UDP designations will not change, but users of this document should confirm any designation shown on this map by referring to the printed 2003 map. If confirmation is required in any way or if in the case of doubt, please contact a planning policy officer in the Development Plans team (ldf@lbhf.gov.uk).
The Plan is in three parts, plus the Proposals Map:
Part One of the UDP contains general land-use policies and provides the context and framework for the more detailed policies for the whole of the Borough. The London Plan produced by the Mayor of London plays a strategic role as a statutory development plan.
Part Two contains the justification for the Part One policies and development control policies.
Part Three contains the annexe and the glossary.
A hard copy of the UDP is available for purchase at our reception on the 3rd floor of the Town Hall Extension, or by phoning 0208 753 3384.
We are currently working on the new Local Development Framework which will replace the UDP in a few years time, to see details on the Local Development Scheme use this link. Local Development Scheme and Framework.
