Predictive Equality Impact Assessments

What is a PEIA?

The Predictive Equality Impact Assessment (PEIA) is being introduced as part of a new Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) process. Whereas Retrospective Equality Impact Assessments directly replace the previous Equality Impact Assessments (EQIAs), PEIAs are a new and additional level of assessment. 

A PEIA involves a brief evaluation of every council decision report that proceeds to Cabinet Members which includes proposals that will result in the creation of a new service/policy/function or a change to an existing service/policy/function.
