Media and creative industries

Thinking of starting your own creative business – or want to move your freelance career to the next level? The Centre for Creative Business in Shepherds Bush, part of the borough’s Business Enterprise Centre, can give you the tools to make it happen. 

Our mission is to develop tomorrow’s leaders in the creative industries. If you work in a field such as film, TV, photography, art, design or creative writing, either as a freelancer or for a small or medium-sized enterprise, we offer:

- A Kick Start project to support you through the first months of business start-up or going freelance
- A tailored Fast Track programme if your business or career is over two years old, including a business mentoring service to advise on business plans, finance and marketing

Our centre also co-manages Focus West, an organisation promoting the media and creative industries in West London. Focus West holds regular networking events featuring presentations from key industry figures. Signing up to become a full member of Focus West entitles you to:

· A 20% discount on networking events
· Access to the members-only area on our website, where you can post your personal or company profile and network with other media and creative businesses
· Subsidised consultancy support – on legal issues, finance and project development
