Housing strategy and housing need
Housing strategy
This sets out our housing policy, looks at the local housing market, assesses housing need and sets out our priorities for the next few years. It brings together existing strategies for example on homelessness, equalities or key workers. In turn our housing strategy feeds into the wider Community Strategy.
Our housing strategy is well regarded: it is the only one from a London borough given top rank by government assessors in each of the last six years.

Housing need
A Housing Need and Private Sector Stock Condition Survey was undertaken in 2003-04, involving interviews with 1476 households. The survey identified high levels of demand for social and intermediate housing and the significant shortfall of affordable housing to meet that demand.
