GIS
GIS (Geographical Information Systems) is used extensively throughout the council, aiding staff in finding locations within the borough and displaying council related features on maps. It is also used with many research projects, assisting in location based decision making and data analysis.
The council is committed to providing this GIS technology to the public via the council website. The council's web-based mapping service is called easyMaps.
With easyMaps you can:
- find an address within the borough
- view historical maps back to 1869
- view aerial photography
- view all planning applications
- access information from the Unitary Development Plan
- access information about services provided in your area
