Computer use in libraries
All our libraries provide computers, the first half hour per day is free, each subsequent half hour costs 50p.
Booking a computer
- Computers may be booked by asking a member of staff at the Enquiry Desk.
- Library members may book one session per day up to one day in advance.
- Bookings may be made by visiting the library or by phone.
- If you have booked a computer please turn up on time. Late arrivals may only be able to use the computer for a reduced length of time or may lose their booking altogether.
- If a computer has not been booked in advance it will be made available on a first come, first served basis.
What you can do
- Access the World Wide Web.
- E-mail using FREE sites such as Hotmail on a self sufficient basis.
- Use your own floppy disk or USB flash drive in the machine.
- Download to your own floppy disk or USB flash drive but you should be aware that internet pages are subject to copyright law.
What you cannot do
- View illegal or offensive materials – if you do this you will be asked to stop by a member of staff.
- Download and save any information to the hard drive – please use a floppy disk.
Any transaction conducted over the Internet is at the owners own risk. Hammersmith & Fulham Council accepts no responsibilities for such transactions.
We reserve the right to restrict access to users.
Charges
- The first half-hour per day is free. Each subsequent half-hour costs 50p (free for Hammersmith & Fulham school children)
- Charges are also made for printing and for floppy disks:
Printing – 15p per A4 sheet
Floppy Disks – 75p each
