Community safety unit

What does the Community Safety Unit do?

The Community Safety Unit was established to work to improve the quality of life and keep residents, visitors and employees in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham safe.

Residents consistently tell us that crime and the fear of crime and anti-social behaviour are their key concerns and we work to address those priorities.

Our role is to put actions in place to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the borough. Much of our work is strategic in nature and we work closely with other partners in the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership to achieve this aim.

Partners of the Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership include:

- London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham
- British Transport Police
- Metropolitan Police Authority
- Hammersmith & Fulham Primary Care Trust
- Metropolitan Police
- London Fire Brigade
- National Probation Service
- The London Ambulance Service

The community safety unit deals with:

Anti social Behaviour
Domestic violence
Drug and alcohol crime
Hate crime
Racial harassment and Third Party Reporting
Priority crimes such as burglary
