Archaeology

English Heritage has classified the Fulham Palace Moated Site as a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Any works on the site above or below ground require Scheduled Monument Consent from the Secretary of State whether or not planning permission is needed or has been given.

There are also a number of Archaeological Priority Areas in the borough, generally found on the riverside or around the historic village centres of Hammersmith, Fulham and Walham Green.
