Arts for schools
Hammersmith and Fulham council seeks to support and develop the arts in the borough to guarantee that they are available to everyone regardless of age, ability or culture.
Hammersmith & Fulham has a rich cultural and artistic life. Community festivals, local artists and arts organisations, professional and community venues provide a wealth of opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy and participate in the arts. The arts development team seeks to support and develop the arts in the borough assuring the arts are available to everyone regardless of age, ability or culture.
Arts for Schools aims to:
Offer advice and support to local arts groups on a range of arts issues including: funding, finding artists to work with, setting up and running projects and promoting arts activities
- Work in partnership with schools to enhance arts opportunities in the curriculum
- Develop new initiatives for the arts in the local community
- Work closely with locally based professional arts organisations such as The Lyric, Bush Theatre and Riverside Studios
- Provide arts and performance training to teachers, play workers and youth workers
- Work in partnership with other council departments to make effective use of resources.
